Demo Case
Only fantasy will be the limit to what can be build – here is a made up example. A company has the agency
for a number of products on the market. Then company have an office with stock facilities. To support the
sale the company has 3 sales people in the field selling the products. The sales people are spread all over
the country and will only rarely visit the office.
Procedures before the new IT solution
1: Stock and prices
Once or twice a week the sales people gets an updated list by email with the current availability of stock items,
prices, new offers etc. Then sales people will open the list from the email using their iPad when they are with the
customer.
2: Report customer visits
End of each week all sales people update a list of customer visits and a list of the expected visits next week.
This is all done by adding values into an excel spread sheet and afterwards emailing them to the office. At the
office they try to check and make some analysis based on the customer visits.
Procedures after the new IT solution
1: Stock and prices
Whenever there is an update the office will enter the update on the computer in the office. Straight after the update
is saved the information is accessible on the iPad that the sales people already have.
2: Report customer visits
The sales people can now plan the visits using the iPad or on their home PC (or even on the smart phone). When they plan
the visits they have the total list of customers available to choose from. When they have visited the customer they just
click “visit completed” and the visit is registered.

Besides from the value added by moving manual procedures (emailing stock lists, creating weekly visit report etc) into the
new IT Solution the company gained some additional values like:
- Sales people get automatically highlighted info about price changes and new products.
- Intelligent search for stocks and can see all product details directly on the iPad.
- Customer list will sorted in or the find the customers that have not been visit for a long time.
- For each customer you have get info about the company or personal notes that you have typed in.
- Its now possible for the office to run reports to see the rate of customer visits etc.
